The Plumbing Apprentice Program is a 110-hour classroom-based program created for apprentice plumbers currently working under the supervision of a licensed plumber. Unlike hands-on trade training, this course focuses on the classroom theory, code knowledge, and technical instruction required for Massachusetts plumbing licensure.
Students study the Massachusetts Plumbing Code, plumbing theory, blueprint reading, drainage systems, gas piping, safety regulations, and troubleshooting techniques while preparing for the Massachusetts State Journeyman Plumber's Examination. The program satisfies the educational requirements established by Massachusetts plumbing regulations for eligible apprentices.
Throughout the program, students build the technical knowledge required to advance through the Massachusetts plumbing apprenticeship system.
Core Topics Include
- Massachusetts Plumbing Code
- Blueprint Reading
- Pipefitting Principles
- Water Supply Systems
- Drain, Waste & Vent (DWV) Systems
- Gas Piping Requirements
- Plumbing Safety Standards

- Plumbing Regulations
- Professional Best Practices
The curriculum is designed to reinforce the theory behind the work students perform every day in the field.
